She made the remarks in Lilongwe on Saturday during the Young African Women Congress Network Malawi Chapter Annual National Summit held under the theme ‘Entrepreneurship, innovation and financial freedom for young Malawian women’.

Kamtukule encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to remain focused and deliver quality products and services to succeed.

“Young women must embrace digital technology, remain disciplined in financial management and be consistent in what they do if they want to build sustainable businesses,” she said.

Young African Women Congress Network Malawi Chapter vice-president Eleanor Tadala Banda said the summit comes at an important time when many young Malawian women are demonstrating resilience by starting businesses and embracing innovation.

“Therefore, the gathering aligns with the organisation’s mission of equipping young women with the knowledge and skills needed to become economically independent,” she said.

Young African Women Congress founder Daniel Osei Tuffuor from Ghana said the organisation was established to address gender disparities in leadership and education.

“Our goal is to bridge the gap in women’s leadership and education by working with stakeholders to implement programmes that empower women,” he said.
